Cisco TCP/IP Addressing and Cisco Routers This interactive CBT contains four units. The first provides an overview of TCP/IP. It covers the protocols present at the Application layer, the TCP and UDP protocols used in the Transport layer, as well as the functionality of TCP, and specifically the TCP handshake mechanism. The second unit identifies the functions of the Internetwork layer of the TCP/IP protocol suite, and discusses the Internet protocol and its functions, as well as the format of an IP datagram. It also instructs the user about ICMP and its error reporting mechanism and the functions of ARP and RARP. The third unit covers the various classes of IP Addressing, and the last unit gives an overview of network management using SNMP including coverage of the Management Information Base (MIB). TCP/IP Addressing and Cisco Routers training covers such topics as: Overview of TCP/IP This four unit interactive course provides the user with a thorough understanding of routing protocols popular with Internet Protocol (IP). It explains in detail the different types of routing. The first unit introduces the concept of routing, and teaches the user about routing tables and routed and routing protocols. The Static Versus Dynamic Routing unit covers static routing and dynamic routing, as well as default routing and interior and exterior routing protocols. The third unit explains the distance-vector routing protocol and the user learns about routing loop problems and the methods for preventing them. The Link-State unit presents the concepts of link-state routing and identifies the problems encountered in link-state routing and the solutions for these problems. Finally, the fourth unit describes the method of combining features of link-state and distance-vector into hybrid routing. IP Routing Concepts training covers such topics as: Routing Concepts This interactive CBT covers the commands used to configure static and default routes. It discusses the features of Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP) and lists the advantages of RIPv2 over RIPv1. This course also describes the procedure of adding RIP and IGRP to the configuration, and provides an introduction to Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). This course also discusses the advantages of EIGRP over other protocols. IP Routing Configuration training covers such topics as: Static Routing Configuration Target audience for this curriculum: Network support staff who will install and maintain small networks or, Network support staff who will perform helpdesk role and provide first-level technical assistance to users in medium-to-large enterprise organizations or, Network administrators who will manage and monitor medium-to-large networks or, Networking professionals who are using Cisco products for the first time or, Channel partners, resellers, and customers who are new to Cisco products and services or, Students who want a resource library for CCNA and CCNP. |
