Fire Prevention and Safety

This course provides basic information on the precautions and procedures necessary for fire protection and safety in the workplace. Topics covered include fire prevention techniques, the types and classes of fires and fire extinguishers, and first aid procedures for dealing with fire-related injuries.

After completing this course you will be able to

Implement a good fire prevention and housekeeping program
Recognize the various classes of fires and know which type of fire extinguisher can be used for each class
Use common fire extinguishers to fight small fires
Provide appropriate first aid to fire injury victims

Materials Handling Safety

This course will help you recognize hazardous material handling situations. The course reviews proper lifting and moving techniques and describes how to use Handling Equipment safely. Other topics include how to select the personal protective equipment needed to handle materials safely, and how to properly use powered lifting devices.

Plan your materials handling work to avoid accidents and injuries

Office Ergonomics

Even the most safety conscious employee may not be aware of the demands that are placed on the body by a job, work area, or by the equipment and tools they use. This course helps to remind employees of ergonomic problems that can occur in the office, and offers solutions to these problems. This course presents the fundamentals of good ergonomic practices.

After completing this course you will be able to

Recognize how certain types of movements can cause ergonomic problems
Know what parts of your body are most often affected by these problems
Identify work situations in your job that might cause ergonomic problems
