- If you received the dialogue box below, it means that the
patch could not locate your files automatically. This suggests
that you altered the default install location or your Start
menu's shortcut files were moved or deleted.
- The above dialogue box asks you to navigate to the location
you installed your application, and locate the folder that
contains the Start.exe file for the courseware you wish
to patch. In this example, the courseware was installed in
the following location C:\Program Files\eLearning\Microsoft
Operating Systems Training as opposed to the default C:\Program
Files\eSchool Essentials\Microsoft Operating Systems Training.
- In order to locate the Start.exe file for the courseware
you wish to patch follow the next steps:
- Currently you are viewing the contents of C:\Windows\Desktop as
seen in the Folders pane (right pane). You wish to navigate
to C:\Program Files\eLearning\Microsoft Operating Systems Training.
In order to do so, double-click on c:\ in the Folders pane.
- Locate Program Files and double-click it to open it.
- Locate eLearning and double-click it to open it.
- Finally, click on Microsoft Operating Systems Training to
open it.
Once you opened the folder Microsoft Operating Systems Training,
you will note the start.exe file that appears on the left
pane of the window. That means you have located the file the patch
was asking you to locate. Click OK to continue.
- Since you have found the file the patch was seeking, you will
receive the message Patching complete. Click OK to
close this dialogue box.
- Congratulations! You have successfully patched your product.
You may now launch your training courseware either through
the link on your desktop, through the Start menu, or
through the Start.exe file in the directory you installed
the courseware.
If you continue to receive the "Course has expired. Please contact
vendor for update." message, make sure you:
- Patched the appropriate files.
- You are launching the files you patched. Check the properties
of the link you are using to launch the courseware (to check the
properties of the link, right-click on the link you are using,
select Properties) and in the Target text box, make
sure the file path is the path to the files you patched in the
above steps i.e. C:\Program Files\eLearning\Microsoft Operating
Systems Training if you altered the install path, or C:\Program
Files\eSchool Essentials\Microsoft Operating Systems Training if
you kept the default settings.
- Enjoy your eSchool Essentials product.

*MORE INFORMATION: The
term Administrator generally refers to the individual
in charge of the computer system. The term Administrator access is
a type of system access traditionally assigned to users who are
to have complete control over the system, from installing and
removing hardware and / or software, system maintenance and configuration,
and complete access to the entire computer system. Restricted
access is given to those the Administrator does not wish
to give such permissions to for security reasons, and are usually
unable to alter system settings and configurations. If you are
an individual home user you are likely already set up as the Administrator of
your computer system, and will likely have the proper access
to complete this installation and activation.
If you are unsure of the type of access you currently have, either ask
your System Administrator (typically the individual or group
that supports your computer system) or continue with the installation
and activation of the product and it will inform you if you are not allowed
to do so.
