When these failed, military intervention was imminent. A majority of Americans understood that military force was not only justified, but absolutely necessary. So began operation "Desert Shield".

Interestingly, BBC Online reports that Saddam Hussein saw himself as a modern-day Nebuchadnezzar, "fit to assume the mantle of leader of the Arabs and of the strongest power in the region".

This CD went a long way in educating me about the fantastic technological advancements that have been made over the years in defense technology, which helped in minimizing loss of lives of both soldiers and civilians.
