In this course, you will become acquainted with the various tasks involved in administering resources. The course will introduce you to the different file systems supported by Windows 2000 Professional: FAT, FAT32, and NTFS, show you a comparison of these file systems, and help you determine the most appropriate file system for a given situation. It will also explain the procedure for converting one file system to another. The course will demonstrate the process of configuring and managing file compression, as well as describe issues related to securing files and folders, sharing folders, and assigning permissions. The course deals with printing to a local, network, and Internet printer, as well as with the printer permissions for accessing print resources over the network. Finally, the course describes troubleshooting solutions for problems related to file-system, file or folder inaccessibility, and printing.
