OS/390 SMP/E Maintaining System Software

This course is designed to introduce the inexperienced user to procedures used to install system software (SYSMODs), using SMP/E. Specifically, it deals with installation command processing, SMP/E processing analysis and correction techniques, installing functions, and using SMP/E dialogs.

SMP/E Maintaining System Software training covers such topics as:

SMP/E Processing Overview
RECEIVE Processing
APPLY Processing
ACCEPT Processing
Reject, Restore and Cleanup

This course is primarily for system programmers who have no prior practical experience with SMP/E, and who will be responsible for servicing MVS, MVS/ESA or OS/390 subsystems.

OS/390 and the Internet

This course provides an introduction to the Internet and network computing, how the Internet is structured, and how it can be used. The course also describes the OS/390 operating system and the specific IBM Internet servers that run on it, and outlines how these elements can provide a secure, open platform for the Internet applications.

OS/390 and the Internet training covers such topics as:

The Internet
Connecting to the Internet
Network Communications
Internet Security

This course is intended for information systems professionals who are interested in learning more about networking technologies, specifically in an OS/390 environment.
