Managing Your Accounts Receivable is one course in a five-part series on Financial Management for Small Business. The series is designed to help business owners increase their profits by improving their financial management skills. An account receivable is most valuable when it is turned from a receivable into actual cash - that is, when the account is collected. In this course, you will examine the benefits and disadvantages of granting credit to business customers, and look at some criteria for deciding which customers are creditworthy. You will also find out about the importance of monitoring your accounts receivable and of developing a clear and consistent collection policy.
