Disable reports generated from applications that crash.
1. Click Start.
2. Right click My Computer.
3. Click Properties.
4. Click the Advanced tab.
5. Click Error Reporting.
6. Click Disable error repoting. Keep But notify me when critical
errors occur checked.
7. Click Ok.
8. Click Ok.
Reconfigure your comunication ports for higher speeds.
1. Click Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Double Click System.
4. Click Hardware tab.
5. Click Device Manager.
6. Double Click Ports.
7. Double Click the appropriate Com port.
8. Click Port Settings.
9. Click Bits per second and change it to the highest supported
speed.
10. Click Flow Control and change it to Hardware.
11. Click Ok.
To simplify the configuration of sharing files and to
reduce the possibility of misconfiguration, Windows XP uses Simple
Sharing by default. When enabled the simple sharing interface appears in
place of the traditional sharing and security tabs. By using the
simple sharing interface, you can create or remove a share and
set permissions on the share. When simple sharing is in effect,
appropriate permissions are automatically set on shared files and
folders.

6. Uncheck the use simple file sharing option.
